Ingredients. 1. Raw rice or idli rice-2cups wash thoroughly. 2. 2tbsp urad dal. 3. 1/2tsp methi seeds. 4. 1/4cup poha. 5. 1cup finely chopped vegetables 6. 1/2cup onion chopped avoid when necessary. 7. 2tbsp dhaniya leaves chopped. 8. Few green chillies chopped. 9. Curry leaves few 10. Salt to taste. 11. 1tbsp oil. 12. Grated potato one big. 13. 1/4tsp baking soda or eno 14. 1/4cup besan optional.can be added while fermentating. Method. 1. Take a bowl add the rice, Dal methi seeds, poha and wash well. 2. Add 2cups of boiling water and cover and keep for 2hours  if not in hurry soak in normal water. 3. #sabudanakhichdi #sagoupma. One of the famous Indian breakfast/snack/upvas dish. this not a recipe as everyone is familiar with this dish. Here are few tips and tricks to get a perfect grainy texture for this upma. Plus a new way of steaming and cooking in microwave. First let's see the soaking and preparing the sago pearl for the dish. This the most important step to the recipe. Take one cup of sago/sabudana pass it through a sieve to remove the powdered ones or you can also remove the powder winnowing. Now add two cups of water and keep it for half an hour. After half an hour wash it well by rubbing it between your palms. this will help removing the upper coat of the sago and also help in soaking it well till inside. Wash it 3-4times until the water runs clear. Now add 2-3tbsp of water to the sago.take care, the water should be just above the sago even if some pearls are above the water it's ok. Almonds halwa Badam halwa Quick microwave method. A jhatpat recipe for those sudden sweet craving 😋 Ingredients 400gms tin milkmaid/condensed milk  1 .5cup almonds flour or powder almonds. You can powder at home in mixie with the skin or use store bought one  2tbsp ghee 1tbsp curds thick should be in room temperature. 2tsp milk  Saffron as required Cardamom powder  Method You need to keep microwave set to high. Let me know tell you, cooking duration can vary from oven to oven. Mine took 8-9minutes Take a microwave safe bowl mix the milkmaid,curds,milk,1tbsp ghee mix well. Set the time to 8minutes. If not done in that time you can extend for another 2minutes . Keep the bowl in and start cooking. Keep stirring in between every 1.5minutes. After 4minutes the mixture will start frothing mix well and keep cooking. After 6minutes it will look somewhat like theratipal /or khoya. Now mix the Badam flour or badam powder. Mix well breaking all lumps   . Add the rest of the ghee stir

Avakkai pickle

Raw mango pickle a must do in many household, during this season. Spicy hot yum who won't love this. Be it curd rice, roti or paratha or just plain rice ghee and Avakkai it's just heavenly. Few things to remember while buying mango for long term preservation, It should be dark green skinned mangoes. It should be firm The inside should nice white flesh. Don't use the ones that are bit yellow. Clean the mango well and wipe it dry. After cutting spread it on a clean cloth and keep under the fan for about 2-3hours . Take care to use all clean and dry vessel for making this pickle. Clean the bottles and jars the previous day and dry them clean. Before starting to make the pickle. Heat little oil and add a half tsp of hing when it starts to smoke switch off the heat.when slightly cool but still hot add little to all the jars you are going to store. Hi all  #Moongmawamewaburfi A very easy to make BURFI and nutritious BURFI for all. Let's go to the recipe Recipe Ingredients Moong dal flour-1/2cup Fried gram dal/chutney dal flour-1/2cup MAWA/khova/ solidified milk-3/4th Cup Cashew nuts powder-3/4thcup Badam powder-  two tbsp Sugar powder-1 1/2cup Ghee-3-4tbsp  Cardamom powder as per taste Saffron -4-5strands  Nutmeg powder one pinch Method Wash and soak half a cup of MOONG DAL for half an hour,then drain the water and spread it out on a clean cloth and let it dry for about ten to fifteen minutes it should not be totally dry there should be some moisture left. Heat a kadai and dry roast the dal on low heat until it's crispy.let it cool then grind to a fine flour,seive the flour and take half cup. Take a big bowl mix all flour cashew powder, badam powder, sugar powder, cardamom powder , and crushed saffron, nutmeg powder, give a good mix. Now in a pan add one tsp ghee and fry the Mawa/khova lightly when it becomes soft remove

Sweet dhokla

Yield: 6 Prep time: 20 min Total time: 40 min Ingredients Red Rice Poha | ¼ cup Rava Medium | ¼ cup Sathumaavu/ Homemade health mix | ¼ cup Grated carrots | ¼ cup Dates | 10 numbers roughly chopped Cashews | 10 numbers roughly chopped Walnuts | 10 numbers roughly chopped Raisins | 10 numbers Groundnuts | 1 Tbsp roasted and deskinned Milk | ¼ cup Brown sugar | ¾ cup Ghee | 1 tsp Cardamom powder | ¼ tsp Cinnamon powder | pinch Nutmeg powder | pinch Eno fruit salt | ¾ tsp ( or ¼ tsp baking soda) Directions 1. Roast the rava until pleasant smell. 2. Wash and soak the Poha for 10 min. 3. Once the poha is soaked, squeeze excess water out of the poha and mash it well. 4. Mix together the poha, rava, sathumaavu and grated carrots. 5. Add the milk to this mix and stir to get even consistency. Leave it aside for 10 min. 6. After 10 min the rava would have soaked in the milk. Add the walnuts, dates, raisins and cashews along with the mix. Also add the cinnamon powder
